Delhi Police Denies Excessive Force During Student Protests
Delhi Police defended their actions during recent student protests, stating they effectively managed a large crowd despite reports of violence.
Kiren Rijiju noted that despite some individuals described as 'criminals' infiltrating the protest, the Delhi Police should be commended for their efforts in maintaining order. He stated that no one was harmed during the protests.
In a statement, Delhi Police denied allegations of excessive force, asserting that approximately 5,000 officers managed over 30,000 protesters. They further claimed that the situation escalated when certain protestors breached multiple layers of barricades and attempted to approach Parliament.
