In Madeira, Depression Bruna caused the cancellation of over 40 flights on Saturday, disrupting travel plans for many passengers. An orange alert was issued from 6 PM, forecasting adverse weather including heavy rain and strong winds.

In addition to the flights, Atlânticoline canceled one trip on the Green Line (Horta-Pico-Velas) due to the bad weather. The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) also issued yellow alerts for rough seas, rain, and strong winds throughout the Azores region.

Civil Protection reported over 120 incidents associated with Depression Bruna in the Madeira archipelago. Adverse weather conditions led to at least five people being displaced, as reported by emergency services.

The alerts issued aim to inform the public of the risks associated with the severe weather, which continues to affect the region. Local authorities are working to minimize the impact of the weather conditions on residents and tourists.

The decrease in diesel and gasoline prices, announced for Monday, is a measure that could ease pressure on citizens, although the current priority is the safety and protection of the population during the bad weather.

The situation remains under monitoring, with authorities advising the public to avoid unnecessary travel until conditions improve and normalcy is restored.
