DGB sees billions in damages from minimum wage fraud

The German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) has identified significant financial damages due to violations of minimum wage regulations. According to the DGB, the losses for employees, social funds, and the state amount to approximately 64 billion euros in total. The current statutory minimum wage is 13.90 euros, but many companies appear to be attempting to circumvent this through illegal practices.

While employer associations have expressed some cautious objections to the DGB's estimates, they partially agree that minimum wage fraud has significant effects on the affected employees. These individuals often suffer from income losses, highlighting the urgent need to combat such injustices.
