Ebola epidemic in DR Congo claims over 1800 lives
In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Ebola epidemic remains at an alarmingly high level according to various sources.
According to Doctors Without Borders, the Ebola virus has spread at an unprecedented pace in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Official figures indicate that more than 1700 people have died as a result of the epidemic.
Another source puts the death toll at around 1800. Observers are describing a rapid progression of the epidemic and see no signs of a slowdown in the outbreak so far.
