The company Mirgor has dismissed 300 employees at its plant in Tierra del Fuego due to labor conflicts. This decision prompted the Ministry of Labor of the island to issue mandatory conciliation, which prohibits further dismissals and calls for a scheduled hearing this Tuesday.

According to reports, the dismissals are related to strikes initiated by a sector of the union. However, the company stated that this is not a measure responding to a decrease in consumption, but rather to a demand from the UOM union.

Despite the situation, company insiders asserted that they do not seek to reduce their workforce; instead, they are striving to recover the jobs affected by these decisions.

The UOM has conducted strikes at the plant, indicating that their actions are motivated by factors unrelated to the company’s reality. This has created significant tension between employees and the management of Mirgor.

The scheduled hearing is expected to provide clarity on the current situation and the reasons behind the dismissals. The ongoing mandatory conciliation aims to mediate between the involved parties.
