Eurostat confirmed that the Eurozone's economy grew by 1% in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the first quarter. This growth represents an increase of 0.5 percentage points from the previous quarter, where the growth rate was 0.5%.

On the other hand, the European Union (EU) experienced a growth of 1.2%, accelerating by 0.4 percentage points compared to the 0.8% growth recorded in the first three months of the year.

However, it is important to highlight that despite this growth in the Eurozone, employment in the EU increased by only 0.1% between April and June. This situation is marked by a certain fragility, notably visible in the German economy, according to reports from various media outlets.

The data presented by Eurostat confirm the preliminary estimates released on July 30 and indicate a recovery in economic activity in the region, despite the challenges faced.
