Fachin requests information on Vorcaro's phone within 24 hours
The president of the STF, Edson Fachin, has set a deadline for the Federal Police to report on Daniel Vorcaro's phone while ministers seek access to its data.

The president of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Minister Edson Fachin, has ordered the Federal Police (PF) to provide information within 24 hours regarding the custody and condition of the cell phone belonging to former banker Daniel Vorcaro, which was seized in 2025 during investigations related to the Banco Master case. This decision follows requests for full access to the phone's contents made by several ministers of the Court.
Minister André Mendonça, the case's rapporteur, reiterates that Vorcaro's phone is in the custody of the PF and that his office only possesses a 'sealed' copy of the phone's contents. Mendonça made this statement in response to Minister Cristiano Zanin, who requested access to the complete contents of the phone in preparation for the trial.
In the same vein, Minister Gilmar Mendes sent a letter to Fachin, asking that all ministers have full access to the data extracted from the phone. Mendes requested that Fachin take action should Mendonça fail to pass on the required information, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

The Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) has also weighed in, reiterating the need for all STF ministers to have access to this data before the trial scheduled for Tuesday, the 15th. Attorney General Paulo Gonet reaffirmed the position held in previous statements.
Zanin and other ministers, such as Alexandre de Moraes, have garnered support for their requests, highlighting the importance of access to the data in guiding the case. Discussions surrounding access to Vorcaro's phone and its legal implications are being addressed ahead of the scheduled hearing.
The requests and Fachin's response reflect the growing pressure on the Court, which is preparing to discuss a case with multiple legal dimensions and interests from different parties. Thus, there is an expectation that Fachin's directives will be promptly addressed by the PF so that the trial can proceed as planned.
