FC Barcelona has been nominated for the Best Women's Club of the Year award at the 2026 Ballon d'Or, recognizing its remarkable performance last season. The Catalan team won the Champions League, the Spanish Championship, the Copa de la Reina, and the Supercopa de España, establishing itself as one of the top favorites for the title.

This year, FC Barcelona's women's team is among the five nominated clubs for its outstanding performance in competitions. This nomination is a testament to the team's success over the past year, during which they accumulated several major trophies.

On the other hand, Luis de la Fuente, coach of the Spanish national team, has been announced as a candidate for Coach of the Year. This recognition was confirmed by UEFA and France Football, which revealed the list of nominees ahead of the Ballon d'Or gala set for October 26 in London.

Other notable coaches on this list include Luis Enrique, Mikel Arteta, and Unai Emery, along with Vincent Kompany. De la Fuente is considered one of the frontrunners after leading Spain to victory in the 2026 World Cup.

Additionally, Unai Simón has been nominated for Best Goalkeeper in the World, highlighting his role in the World Cup championship and his recognition with the Golden Glove. Other standout goalkeepers in this category include Thibaut Courtois and David Raya, among others.

Finally, the women's Ballon d'Or has seen significant representation from FC Barcelona, with six of its players nominated for the award following their success in various competitions. This dominance by the Catalan club underscores its influence and performance in women's football this season.
