According to information from the magazine DER SPIEGEL, the Federal Interior Ministry is planning to introduce a new ID card. The proposed card will not include a printed residential address and will instead feature a larger photo.

According to a report from Deutschlandfunk, the new ID card is being developed as part of a bureaucratic reduction initiative. The exact details are not yet final, as the project is still in the planning phase.
