Festa do Tomate Coração de Boi in Arroios

The village of Arroios, located near Vila Real, will host the Festa do Tomate Coração de Boi on August 22, an event dedicated to this specific variety of tomato. Known for its meaty and juicy texture, this tomato is often sliced like a steak.

Additionally, it has been reported that Quinta do Ventozelo won the contest for the best Tomate Coração de Boi in the Douro in the 2026 edition. This estate, whose garden project is led by landscape architect João Bicho, has thus earned the title of two-time champion, recognized for the quality of its cultivation, which represents a true family heritage in the region.
