The fire that affected the Landes burned approximately 1,700 hectares without causing any casualties. The Secretary General of the prefecture announced on Monday that the fire is now "contained," allowing evacuees to begin returning to their homes.

About 250 residents from the municipalities of Garein and Luglon have been given permission to return to their homes. However, 400 other individuals are still waiting for authorization from the prefecture to go back.

Although the fire is described as "contained," the prefecture clarified that this does not mean it is completely extinguished. Vigilance remains necessary, as reaffirmed by the Secretary General of the prefecture in a statement.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation and assess the safety conditions for the remaining evacuated residents.
