First assisted suicide managed by the health service in Lombardy: Domenico Zuccarella has died
Domenico Zuccarella, suffering from multiple sclerosis, died after initiating the assisted suicide procedure with the support of the Luca Coscioni association.
Domenico Zuccarella, a 59-year-old man suffering from multiple sclerosis, has died in Lombardy after activating the assisted suicide procedure, the first managed by the region's health service.
The Luca Coscioni association assisted Zuccarella in his journey, emphasizing that it took 'too long, 290 days of waiting' to achieve this goal. The news was also confirmed by Bertolaso, who urged to avoid instrumentalizations.
This case fits into a broader context of assisted suicide cases in Italy, including reported incidents in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Tuscany, Liguria, and Piedmont, although not identical to Zuccarella's case.
