Former Ministers Threaten Legal Action Over Slander and Misuse
Riyas and Imasuen have both announced intentions to pursue legal action regarding their names being misused in reports.

Former Keralam Minister Riyas has addressed recent media reports related to the CMRL case, labeling them as false and stating his intent to pursue legal action. He specifically denied any allegations mentioned in the reports that he claims misrepresent him. Riyas expressed strong discontent over the alleged inaccuracies and is prepared to defend his reputation legally.
Separately, NSW's former police minister David Elliott testified at the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) on Friday. Following his testimony, he indicated that he is also contemplating legal action against comments he described as 'slanderous.' This development comes amid his ongoing scrutiny related to the allegations being investigated by the commission.

In another instance, Senator Neda Imasuen from Edo South has disavowed a political poster that inaccurately suggests his candidacy for the 2027 senatorial seat. He stated that his name and photograph were used without his permission, and he has similarly threatened legal action against those responsible for the unauthorized use.
These events highlight a growing trend among politicians to respond legally to perceived slander and misrepresentation in the media and political sphere. Both Riyas and Elliott, alongside Imasuen, are taking proactive measures to safeguard their reputations.
