Funeral of Sandro Mazzola in Milan: City Mourning and Fans Pay Tribute
On Monday, Milan bid farewell to Sandro Mazzola with city mourning and hundreds of fans present to say goodbye at the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio.

The funeral of Sandro Mazzola took place on Monday at the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio in Milan, with city mourning declared by Mayor Giuseppe Sala. The family requested that there be no television broadcasts or photographs during the ceremony.
Mazzola, a legend of Italian football, passed away at the age of 83 after a long illness. His coffin was met with a long round of applause at the entrance of the basilica, where hundreds of Inter fans gathered.
During the ceremony, attendees paid tribute to the champion with chants and flares, honoring the blue and black colors. Among the former Inter players present were Aristide Guarneri, Giuseppe Bergomi, Francesco Toldo, and Ivan Ramiro Cordoba.
