Germany announces 17-cent discount on fuel prices
The German government will implement a 17-cent per liter discount on fuel, supported by federal states and coalition parliamentary groups.

The Chancellor of Germany announced a reduction of 17 cents per liter in fuel prices. This measure, according to various sources, will be supported by federal states and the parliamentary groups of the coalition of conservatives and social democrats.
The plan for the discount includes a subsidy of 2.5 billion euros, which will facilitate the implementation of the fuel price reduction.
The measure will come into effect on October 1, as reported by several media outlets, including Observador and Notícias ao Minuto.

In addition, the German opposition has expressed concerns about the government's adequacy in responding to citizens' needs, calling for additional efforts to curb fuel prices.
Opposition parties, including the Liberal Initiative, have requested that the government go further by proposing a reduction of 30 cents per liter, which they believe is necessary to assist families.
Mariana Leitão, a prominent figure in the Liberal Initiative, expressed her concern regarding a potential reduction in community funds and stated that the country 'is not prepared' to face this situation.
