The German entry for the Academy Awards is Sandra Wollner's film "Everytime," which has the chance to win the "Best International Feature" award.

Germany has selected the film "Everytime" by director Sandra Wollner as its official entry for the Academy Awards. This decision was announced by German Films, the overseas representation of German cinema, in Munich.
With "Everytime," Germany is participating for the first time in a new selection process that allows up to three German films to be nominated in the "Best International Feature" category. Besides Wollner’s film, the Berlinale winner "Gelbe Briefe" by Ilker Catak and the Sundance hit "Von Scham und Geld" may also have a chance for an Oscar nomination.
Sandra Wollner, who resides in Berlin, recently won the main prize at the Sarajevo Film Festival with "Everytime." The film addresses themes of grief and loss, illustrating how these emotions shape the human experience.

The director, born in Leoben, is well established in the international film scene. Her work has already garnered significant recognition, reflected in several awards.
The official Oscar race for the "Best International Feature" category has now begun, and it remains to be seen how the competition among the submitted films will develop.
"Everytime" is not only a significant contribution to the German film industry but also highlights the changing landscape for Oscar nominations, creating more room for diversity. This development could impact the future selection of films for the competition.
