Gianni Infantino remains President of FIFA and offers apologies
Following an emergency meeting in Rabat, Gianni Infantino continues as FIFA President despite internal and external criticism regarding his plans.

Gianni Infantino will temporarily remain President of FIFA, as decided during an emergency meeting in Rabat, Morocco. This decision comes amid growing pressure on Infantino, especially after his controversial proposal to sell shares of the World Cup.
His plans were criticized not only from external sources but also faced significant internal dissent within FIFA. Nonetheless, the FIFA executives present at the meeting, including the Secretary-General, expressed their support for Infantino.

Mattias Grafström, the Secretary-General, previously expressed his support for Infantino in a leaked email, despite the controversy. This has contributed to the decision to retain Infantino as President.
The KNVB (Royal Netherlands Football Association) has not changed its position regarding the situation surrounding Infantino, despite his apologies.
