The KNVB has announced that it has lost confidence in FIFA president Gianni Infantino. This decision was made following the controversial plan to sell shares of the World Cup to private investors, which has since been retracted.

KNVB president Frank Paauw stated during a broadcast of Pauw & De Wit that there has been no contact from Infantino. He emphasized that the situation has become untenable and that boundaries have been crossed with the proposal.

According to Paauw, it is now no longer possible to arrive at solutions with Infantino at the helm. He claimed that the previous cooperation can no longer be reestablished, and that the KNVB no longer trusts Infantino to steer in the right direction.

In addition to losing confidence, the KNVB has also taken the initiative to organize an international summit where these issues can be discussed. This indicates that they are serious about working towards reforms within FIFA.

Various reports and contributions from other media confirm the growing frustration surrounding Infantino and his management style. The KNVB seems to be leading the call for change within the international football organization.

These developments come at a time when FIFA is under pressure from various national federations, which are also demanding transparency and participation in critical decisions and policies. The KNVB hopes that its stance will be heard within UEFA.
