Government launches privatization of Belgrano Cargas with a 50-year concession
The bidding process to privatize Belgrano Cargas will start tomorrow, with a minimum investment of $1 billion and specific conditions for bidders.

The Argentine government will begin the bidding process to privatize Belgrano Cargas tomorrow, a move considered significant by various political actors. Luis Caputo signed the resolution that enables the tender for the three lines, and it is established that there will be no bidding for the price.
Instead, bidders will compete through a combination of investments and tolls, with a commitment to invest at least $1 billion. Interested companies will be able to submit their offers until mid-November.

Participants must register on the CONTRAT.AR platform, and the deadline to complete the registrations is November 11. This process is part of a broader strategy that also includes authorization of the tender for the San Martín and Urquiza lines.
National authorities have indicated their intention to attract companies from the sector to foster competitiveness and improve rail services in the country, although discussions about the technical details of the bidding documents are still ongoing.
