Defence Ministry Issues Tender for 60 Multirole Transport Aircraft
The Indian Air Force seeks to enhance its transport capabilities with a new tender for multirole aircraft.
The Defence Ministry has issued a ₹1 lakh crore tender for the procurement of 60 multirole transport aircraft for the Indian Air Force (IAF). This initiative is part of efforts to replace the ageing fleet of cargo and transport aircraft currently in service.
The IAF is looking for aircraft with a cargo carrying capacity of 18 to 30 tonnes to address its increasing airlift requirements, as reported by various sources.
