Government revokes leave for military in Ceuta amid potential illegal entry

The Spanish government has decided to revoke the leave of military personnel and agents from the Civil Guard deployed in Ceuta effective August 13, due to concerns over a possible attempt at mass illegal entry into the autonomous city. This measure responds to warnings about a new migratory movement that could impact the border with Morocco in the coming days.

According to sources from the Ministry of Defense, the revocation of leave is set against a backdrop of concern over messages circulating on social media, some of which express, "Our last opportunity." These messages refer to the possibility of a new attempt to scale the fence in Ceuta.

On the other hand, the Ministry of the Interior has indicated that, although there is no specific alarm confirmed regarding a new attempted crossing scheduled for August 15, there is continuous monitoring of social media activities related to migration.
