Hearts secures place in Europa Conference League after difficult summer
Despite early exits from the Champions League and Europa League, Hearts qualified for the Conference League after winning on penalties against Rapid Vienna.
Heart of Midlothian, after finishing last season as runners-up to Celtic, is going through a challenging summer. The Scottish club was successively eliminated from both the Champions League and the Europa League.
On Wednesday, Hearts managed to salvage their season by qualifying for the Europa Conference League. They faced Rapid Vienna and ended the match with a score of 2-2.
The match's outcome required a penalty shootout. Hearts won 4-3 in this tense encounter, allowing them to extend their European journey.

This qualification for the Europa Conference League spares the Edinburgh club the prospect of not participating in any European competition this season, a scenario that seemed possible after their recent eliminations.
The club will aim to rebuild and capitalize on this qualification, hoping for a better run than in the qualifying rounds of other competitions.
Hearts' future in European competition will depend on their preparation and performances in the coming months as they get ready for the group stage of the Europa Conference League.
