Italy is experiencing a heat wave that has lasted for twenty days, with 19 cities currently under red alert, according to ANSA. Temperatures have remained 7-8 degrees above the seasonal average, resulting in extreme weather conditions across various regions of the country.

As the Ferragosto holiday approaches, the fourth heat wave, ongoing for 13 days, is expected to extend until August 17, marking a total of 20 consecutive days of intense heat. This phenomenon is causing an increase in heat spells, separated by increasingly shorter intervals.

In addition to the heat, a weather alert for thunderstorms has been issued in four regions, warning the public of potential weather changes in the coming days. Local authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
