The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has issued warnings regarding heavy rainfall expected across parts of Luzon on Friday, August 28. Pagasa reports that the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, continues to influence the weather conditions in the region.

Significant rainfall is anticipated particularly in the western regions of Luzon, including Metro Manila, Ilocos, and Central Luzon. Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina provided a forecast stating that areas can expect rainfall levels between 100 to 200 millimeters in certain locations throughout the day.

In a weather advisory released at 2 p.m., Pagasa listed ten areas in Luzon under a heavy rainfall warning. The advisory highlights the potential for adverse effects due to the monsoon conditions, which are expected to persist through the weekend.

People in the affected areas are advised to stay alert for updates from Pagasa and to take necessary precautions due to the heavy rains and possible flooding. The situation is evolving as conditions may continue to change throughout the day and into the weekend.

Pagasa's heavy rainfall outlook indicates that these conditions could last until Sunday, August 30, further increasing concerns about potential impacts on the local communities.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and monitor the forecasts issued by Pagasa for any further developments related to the weather situation. The agency continues to provide regular updates on rainfall and its possible consequences.
