Herzog assigns Eisenkot the task of forming the government
Today, the Israeli president tasks Gadi Eisenkot with forming a new government.

Today, Israeli President Isaac Herzog will officially assign Gadi Eisenkot the mandate to form a new government. The task will be given at 5:00 PM at the presidential residence, according to Sky TG24.
Eisenkot, a former Chief of Staff, will have a period of twenty-eight days to build a coalition, which may be extended by another fourteen days, as stipulated by Israeli law. This information has been confirmed by RSI Radiotelevisione svizzera.
During the presidential consultations, 67 members of the Knesset recommended Eisenkot to the president, as reported by ANSA. His appointment comes at a delicate time for Israeli politics, with Netanyahu inviting coalition parties to form a national unity government.

According to news from la Repubblica, the issue of support from Arab and ultra-Orthodox parties remains a crucial knot to untie in the coming weeks. In this context, Netanyahu's position is difficult, having secured only 46 seats.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Change Block, Eisenkot, is called upon to demonstrate his capabilities. According to Rai News, he stated that he would do everything possible to ensure a stable and responsible government.
Geopolitical tensions, particularly regarding Iran, remain in the background and could influence domestic political dynamics. Recently, reports of flooding in Gaza and the arrest of activists in the West Bank have drawn media attention, broadening the scope of challenges the new government may face.
