Hiking group with children in Tirol faces mountain emergency
A group of 36 hikers in Sölden found themselves in difficult terrain on Sunday afternoon, prompting a rescue operation. Mountain rescue came to their aid.
A hiking group consisting of 36 individuals, including families with small children in strollers, got into difficult terrain in Sölden, Tirol, on Sunday afternoon. The group had embarked on a mountain hike and strayed off the marked path, leading to an emergency situation.
According to reports, the hikers had to navigate challenging terrain multiple times, which complicated their situation. Some members of the group were on particularly high ground, exceeding 2,000 meters above sea level. Therefore, assistance was requested as the situation worsened.
Two individuals from the group made an emergency call, prompting the mobilization of mountain rescue services. The rescue teams assisted the group with rope and a helicopter to safely bring the hikers out of the dangerous situation.
Fortunately, there were no injuries among the group members. The mountain rescue service acted both proactively and responsively to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
The situation was successfully brought under control in the early evening, allowing the hikers to be safely returned. The reason for straying from the marked path remains unclear.
