The General Inspectorate of Health Activities (IGAS) identified failures in the planning of obstetric emergencies at the Almada-Seixal Local Health Unit. According to a report, the planning of work to ensure the Gynecology and Obstetrics service from April 13 to May 4, 2025, was not properly executed.

The inspection highlighted that inadequate planning could compromise the quality of care provided to users. The findings raise concerns about the responsiveness of health services in the Almada-Seixal region.

Furthermore, IGAS recommended the adoption of corrective measures to ensure the smooth operation of the service during the designated period. The lack of a solid plan may impact both health professionals and patients who depend on this care.

Health authorities at the Almada-Seixal Local Health Unit have been notified of the audit results and are required to develop a plan to address the issues raised by IGAS.
