On the occasion of Victory Day, a celebration marking the Taliban's rise to power in Afghanistan, representatives from the Taliban attended an event in New Delhi. Taliban envoy Noor emphasized the importance of Afghanistan's geographic position for fostering connectivity and cooperation among nations, stating that it should not be a site of negative competition but a bridge to shared prosperity.

Despite the attendance of Indian officials at the event, it is noted that the Indian government does not officially recognize the Taliban as the governing body of Afghanistan, following their takeover five years ago. This context adds complexity to the development of India-Afghanistan relations, which have evolved amid varied diplomatic stances and regional dynamics.
