An investigation into an alleged salmonella outbreak at Mexico General Hospital has been initiated by the Internal Control Body in Health. Reports indicate that the hospital cafeteria is under review, and documents are being gathered to determine potential responsibility among staff and the contracting company involved.
As a result of the outbreak, 23 resident doctors have been hospitalized, while up to 135 have been affected. Authorities continue with the epidemiological and health investigation to clarify the situation.
Health Secretary David Kershenobich has confirmed that authorities are making ongoing efforts to investigate the incident and ensure the safety of resident doctors and staff.
