Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that Tehran has conveyed its conditions to the United States regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. This significant waterway has been blocked in the context of escalating hostilities between Iran and the US, which have persisted since February.

According to reports by various news agencies, Iran emphasized that it would only resume navigation through the Strait of Hormuz once its demands are met. The conditions reportedly include an end to military actions across the region, the release of frozen Iranian assets, and a cessation of the naval blockade by the US.

The Iranian government has communicated its stipulations through intermediaries, including Qatar. This move coincides with rising tensions involving Iranian support for Houthi rebels in Yemen, against whom Saudi Arabia is currently engaged in military operations.

As the situation evolves, the US has warned against further escalation in the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Iranian-backed forces. Both countries remain at an impasse, with no immediate resolution in sight following Iran's recent demands.

Additionally, Tehran's proposal includes a seven-day timeline for negotiations to resume following the acceptance of its conditions. This plan is intended to facilitate not only the reopening of the Strait but also to signal a willingness to engage in broader discussions related to the ongoing conflicts in the region.

Overall, the current stalemate reflects the complex geopolitical dynamics at play in the Middle East, especially as Iran's conditions remain on the table awaiting a response from Washington.
