Israel claims to have killed abductor of hostage couple from October 7
The Israeli army announced it killed a man filmed abducting a couple of hostages during the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.

The Israeli army and Shin Bet, the internal security service, announced that they killed, in the Gaza Strip, a man involved in the abduction of a couple of hostages on October 7, 2023. This event occurred during a Hamas attack, during which several Israeli citizens were kidnapped, with the couple in question being captured during the Nova festival near the border with Gaza.
Reports indicate that the identified abductor infiltrated Israeli territory during the attack and drove the motorcycle used to transport Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or to the Gaza Strip. Footage of the kidnapping, which was broadcast live, gained notoriety and became emblematic of the event.
According to news sources, the couple was finally released after a long period as hostages, with Noa Argamani being freed in June 2024 and Avinatan Or in October 2025. This release occurred more than a year after the initial kidnappings, which caused a major outcry in Israel and around the world.

Israeli authorities have not disclosed additional details about the operation that led to the abductor's death. However, they emphasized the operational significance of eliminating individuals directly associated with acts of violence by Hamas, particularly those who actively participated in the capture of civilians.
The situation in the region has been tense, with an increase in hostilities and military operations in response to Hamas attacks, which have resulted in various losses on both sides. The events of October 7 have been a focal point in discussions around security and defense policies in Israel.
Recently, peace negotiations between Iran and the United States have been mentioned in various media, reflecting a broader context of instability in the Middle East, which continues to influence regional dynamics and Israel's response to kidnappings and attacks.
