Israel prepares to relocate Gaza population with US approval
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that the country is awaiting US approval to transfer Palestinians from Gaza.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared that the Israeli government is ready to relocate the Palestinian population of the Gaza Strip, pending approval from the United States regarding the fate of the displaced. During a conference organized by the news site Ynet and the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, Katz emphasized that "there is no real solution for Gaza without this migration."
According to Katz, Israel is prepared to carry out the migration in the most comprehensive way possible, utilizing land, air, and sea means. He stated that the large-scale migration plan has never been taken off the table. This position raises concerns regarding the legal and ethical implications of the forced displacement of a civilian population, which is considered a war crime under international law.
The proposal to transfer Palestinians from Gaza is not new and harks back to earlier suggestions, including one made by Donald Trump in 2025, which involved relocating residents to countries such as Egypt and Jordan. Katz noted that the American president has not abandoned the idea, merely suspended it temporarily.

The security situation in Gaza remains tense, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during a recent visit to the region, reiterated that he will not accept any peace roadmap until Hamas disarms. This stance further complicates the search for a lasting resolution.
The US embassy was contacted for comment on the issue but did not immediately respond to the request regarding the situation in Gaza and potential support for the migration proposed by Israel.
Katz's and Netanyahu's statements reflect a government policy aligning with Israeli military and diplomatic actions as the situation continues to evolve in the region. International reactions to these proposals may further impact the dynamics in Gaza and its population.
