Israel strikes Abu al-Duhur airbase in Syria
Israel has conducted multiple strikes on an airbase in Syria, warning Damascus and Ankara as tensions escalate between the two countries.

Israel carried out eight strikes on the Abu al-Duhur airbase, located in the Idlib province near the Turkish border. According to Syrian authorities, these strikes caused damage to the runway and storage facilities, but no casualties were reported.
The bombardment occurs amid rising tensions between Israel, Syria, and Turkey. On one hand, Israel accuses Damascus of preparing to deploy Turkish military personnel at this base, which Tel Aviv claims could threaten its security.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that this action aimed to send a clear message to Ankara, saying: 'We will not tolerate a Turkish military entrenchment advancing southward, as this poses a threat to us.'

For its part, Turkey has denied any plans to deploy troops in Syria, further fueling the existing rivalry between the two nations. Turkish authorities describe this accusation as false and reject Israeli concerns.
This bombardment comes as negotiations between Syrian authorities and Turkey for a security agreement seem stalled, thereby exacerbating diplomatic tensions between the countries.
Israel's attack is seen as a warning to both Damascus and Ankara, reflecting a complex and volatile dynamic in the region, where each party's strategic interests intersect.
