Silvia Monti, born Silvia Cornacchia, has died at the age of 80. She was a prominent actress in Italian cinema from the late 1960s to the mid-1970s, working with esteemed directors such as Alberto Lattuada, Giuseppe Patroni Griffi, Lucio Fulci, Luigi Bazzoni, and Alberto Sordi, with whom she starred in the film 'Finché c'è guerra c'è speranza.'
After her beginnings in television, Monti retired from the spotlight in 1974. She had an initial marriage to Count Donà delle Rose before meeting Carlo De Benedetti, whom she married in 1997.
In recent years, Monti lived in Lugano, where she spent much of her private life away from the limelight.
