Jakob Omrzel, the 20-year-old Slovenian rider, has won the twelfth stage of the Vuelta, while Enric Mas has strengthened his lead.

Jakob Omrzel won the challenging twelfth stage of the Vuelta a España on Thursday. The 20-year-old Slovenian, riding for Bahrain - Victorious, was the strongest in the breakaway group and crossed the finish line victorious on the final climb.
Enric Mas, the current leader riding for Movistar, had a strong stage, finishing fifth, nearly three minutes behind Omrzel. Mas managed to extend his overall lead against his main competitors.
Among the riders who fell behind were Slovenian Primoz Roglic, Austrian Felix Gall, and Ecuador's Richard Carapaz. These riders were unable to keep pace with Mas, who executed an effective race.

The stage was characterized by collaboration between the classification teams and the breakaway riders, with the classification contenders primarily focused on gaining important time in the overall standings.
Omrzel is now the second-youngest stage winner in the history of the Vuelta, younger than Tadej Pogacar was during his first victory in the race. This achievement highlights the growing talent of the young Slovenian rider.
The stage took place from Vera to Calar Alto, featuring an exciting route and a strong competitive atmosphere among the riders. Upcoming stages may bring more thrilling developments in the battle for the overall victory.
