The U.S. government has paused inspection activities in Michoacan, a key avocado-producing region in Mexico. This halt in inspections is a response to concerns over organized crime groups that have been extorting growers and exporters in the area.
Despite this situation in Mexico, Canada has confirmed that its avocado supply remains stable and is not impacted by the U.S. decision regarding inspections. Canadian authorities indicate that there are sufficient avocado supplies for the domestic market.
