Iran and Oman: Negotiations on the Strait of Hormuz
Iran and Oman are negotiating the future of the Strait of Hormuz. However, Tehran is making demands on the US that could be viewed as difficult.

Iran and Oman appear to be largely in agreement in negotiations regarding the Strait of Hormuz. According to Iranian Foreign Minister Araghtchi, however, a prompt reopening of the strategically important waterway is still considered uncertain.
Tehran has demanded concessions from Washington in the negotiations, which observers believe may be unacceptable to the US. Consequently, talks between Iran and Oman remain tense and noncommittal, while the question of US demands remains unanswered.
