Iran and Oman on the verge of agreement over the Strait of Hormuz
Iran reports that negotiations with Oman regarding the strategically important waterway are in the final stages.
According to reports from the BBC, Iran has announced that talks with Oman regarding a potential agreement for the Strait of Hormuz are nearing completion. The same source mentions that both the U.S. and Oman have not yet commented on the proposed deal.
Additionally, Italian sources report that the U.S. also has expectations for a prompt consensus with Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz. This information suggests an increasing diplomatic engagement in the region.
Meanwhile, a Sunni alliance has been formed in Riyadh, including Turkey and Pakistan. This alliance is modeled after NATO and aims to enhance the security of Saudi Arabia against military threats posed by the Shiite Houthi militias.
The current situation in the region remains tense as the U.S. is informed about the developments and reports persist of ongoing clashes between loyal forces to Saudi Arabia and Shiite militias in Yemen. Intense military confrontations have also occurred in Lebanon.
