Ceasefire between the US and Iran set to be extended
An extension of the ceasefire between the US and Iran is under discussion, while an agreement on maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz is also anticipated.
The US and Iran are reportedly considering an extension of the existing ceasefire. This has been reported by several sources, including Pakistani security circles involved in the negotiation process. Currently, a 60-day deadline for negotiations stemming from a framework agreement reached in June is set to expire in mid-August.
According to information from Pakistan, the ceasefire could be extended by another 60 or even 90 days. This was confirmed through discussions with parties involved in the negotiations, but a final decision is still pending.
In addition to the ceasefire negotiations, there are reports of an agreement between Iran and Oman regarding navigation through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. However, details of this agreement have not yet been made public.
