KU Leuven has donated €25,000 to aid organizations involved in emergency relief for flood victims in Nepal and Tibet. The amount is equally distributed between Doctors Without Borders and the Red Cross, both of which are providing assistance on the ground.

The university aims to offer support for shelter and assistance in the affected regions. The donation comes at a time when the consequences of the severe natural disaster are receiving global attention, including in Leuven.

Additionally, the city of Antwerp has allocated €15,000 for emergency aid through Consortium 12-12. This contribution is also intended for areas severely affected by the floods between Nepal and Tibet.

It is worth noting that the Nepalese Teej & Dar Festival, scheduled for Friday in Wilsele, has been postponed. The festival organizers have decided to redirect the allocated budget for the event to the affected areas.

These initiatives by KU Leuven and the city of Antwerp highlight the commitment of local communities to provide support to the victims of this natural disaster.
