The Left Bloc (BE) submitted a complaint to the Ombudsman this Tuesday, challenging the errors in pension payments by the Caixa Geral de Aposentações (CGA). The complaint, which spans over 40 pages, is based on 116 reports and was delivered by the party's leaders, including coordinator and sole deputy Fabian Figueiredo.

The BE rejects the notion that pensioners should bear the consequences of the 'alleged error' that resulted in payments exceeding the expected amounts. The party believes it is unjust for pensioners to be held responsible for an administrative mistake that they did not cause.

According to reported information, the complaint was formalized to alert authorities about the situation of several pensioners who faced cuts in their pensions, affecting approximately three thousand beneficiaries, as mentioned in some sources.

According to ECO, the party expressed its concern about the impact of such errors, which could jeopardize the financial security of pensioners. This situation is viewed as a serious issue that requires immediate attention.

The Ombudsman now has the responsibility to analyze the complaint submitted by the BE and investigate the claims made regarding the erroneous payments. The filing of the complaint could lead to an evaluation of the CGA's procedures.

Complaints from pensioners have intensified, with reports of widespread dissatisfaction. With this action, the BE aims not only to defend the rights of pensioners but also to reform CGA processes to prevent similar cases from occurring in the future.
