The State Budget proposal for 2027 (OE2027) was submitted today to the Assembly of the Republic by Finance Minister Joaquim Miranda Sarmento at around 2:15 PM. This submission followed approval by the Council of Ministers, which took place yesterday, October 7.

The Government has advanced the submission by one day, as the previously scheduled date was tomorrow, October 9. Thus, the Executive has shown swiftness in the budget presentation process.

Following the submission, the Assembly of the Republic will hold a debate with the Opposition, scheduled for tomorrow. This fortnightly debate is a time when the Prime Minister will face questions from the Opposition on the budget and other relevant issues.

The Left Bloc has already announced that it will vote against the State Budget proposal for 2027, indicating that the Opposition has a clear stance on the submitted document.

During the debate, housing and the State Budget will be central themes, with expected criticisms from the Opposition. Real-time coverage of the plenary session will be provided by various media outlets.

The delivery of the budget proposal is an important step in the political calendar, and all eyes are on the discussions that will follow in the Assembly of the Republic. It is a key moment that could shape the future of economic policies in the country.
