Lord of Miracles Procession 2026: Route and Care for the Faithful
The Lord of Miracles continued its route through Lima, gathering thousands of devotees and highlighting medical care during the event.

On Sunday, October 18, 2026, the Lord of Miracles began its second procession at 6:00 AM, following a campaign mass led by Cardinal Carlos Castillo Mattasoglio. Throughout the day, the religious image moved through the streets of Lima's Historic Center, including the Plaza de Armas and other roads near public buildings, even reaching the Government Palace.
Thousands of faithful accompanied the procession, actively participating in an event that displayed a deep sense of devotion. The turnout was so significant that the Social Health Insurance (Essalud) reported treating over 130 devotees during the procession. Health services were available for emergency cases, particularly in response to dehydration and heat strokes, common in events with large crowds under intense weather conditions.
During the celebration, incidents related to the heat were recorded, with 60% of those treated being elderly. A total of 29 ambulances and around 200 support brigades were deployed to ensure timely medical care. Authorities emphasized the importance of staying hydrated due to the hot weather on the day.

The Congress of the Republic also participated in the event, paying tribute to the image of the Lord of Miracles near Plaza Bolívar. This act was part of the honors performed during the procession, highlighting the cultural and religious significance of the activity.
In the evening, the image of Christ Moreno arrived at the Church of Carmen, where it will stay overnight until the next day, marking a milestone in the festivities of the Month of Purple. This event is an annual tradition that attracts thousands of devotees.
On Monday, October 19, a third procession is scheduled, where the image of the Lord of Miracles will continue its path through important streets and avenues in Cercado de Lima and La Victoria, with planned stops in front of hospitals along its route, ensuring that the faithful have access to medical care if needed.
