Orange alert issued for strong winds in Lima and the Peruvian coast
Senamhi issued an alert due to increased wind speeds in Lima and ten other regions from August 19 to 20.

The National Meteorology and Hydrology Service of Peru (Senamhi) announced an orange alert due to increased wind speeds in Lima and ten other regions along the Peruvian coast. This situation is expected from Wednesday, August 19, to Thursday, August 20.
On the other hand, the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) commented on the relationship between strong winds and the occurrence of earthquakes in the country, clarifying that there is no scientific evidence to support this connection. Both organizations explained that October is popularly known as the 'month of tremors' in Peru.
Additionally, the National Meteorological Service issued a yellow alert for heavy rain, strong winds, and storms for several provinces on the same Wednesday. Adverse weather conditions were warned, with maximum temperatures forecasted to reach up to 15°C in some regions.
