Lufthansa Group rolls out Starlink internet on its aircraft

The Lufthansa Group will launch its Starlink internet service on its aircraft next week. The first plane to be equipped with this satellite-based high-speed internet will be a Lufthansa Airbus A320 Neo. According to aeroTELEGRAPH, around 850 planes in the Lufthansa Group are set to be equipped with the new technology by 2029.

In addition to Lufthansa, other airlines in the group will also be affected. These include Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, ITA Airways, Edelweiss, Discover Airlines, Air Dolomiti, Lufthansa City Airlines, and Eurowings. These airlines are expected to be outfitted with the new offering in the near future as well.

The Starlink internet will allow passengers to access fast internet during flights. Information regarding the exact launch date of the services across the various airlines has not yet been released.

The Lufthansa Group plans to gradually integrate the new technology into its entire fleet. The first flight with Starlink internet on board is expected to take place soon, and further details regarding the rollout are anticipated. The service may also be available on AUA flights, as reported by DER STANDARD.
