Magnitude 4.4 and 4.7 earthquakes recorded in Junín and Satipo

Two earthquakes were reported in Peru within 48 hours: one in Chupaca and another in Satipo, both in the Junín region.

On August 7, a magnitude 4.4 earthquake was recorded in Chupaca, Junín, according to the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) via its official channels.

Additionally, on August 8, another earthquake measuring 4.7 was reported in Satipo. This tremor occurred at 10:40 a.m. and its epicenter was located 25 kilometers northeast of the town of Satipo, also in Junín region.

Both earthquakes are part of the country's tectonic movement, situated in the Pacific Ring of Fire, known for its high seismic activity.
