The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has formally submitted the proposed P7.2-trillion National Expenditure Program (NEP) for 2027 to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. according to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro. This budget proposal represents a six percent increase compared to the current year's expenditure program.

The NEP is expected to focus on critical areas such as education and health, aligning with the administration's priorities. The formal transmission of this budget to Congress is scheduled for August 11, 2026.

This proposed budget comes in the context of President Marcos Jr.'s last full year in office before the 2028 elections, highlighting the administration's strategic planning for the fiscal year ahead.
