Brazil's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira, and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met on Friday, September 30, in Atlanta during a G20 foreign ministers' gathering. The conversation focused on preparations for the summit, which will bring global leaders together for discussions on international issues.

According to information from Itamaraty, the meeting between the two diplomats took place ahead of the summit being held in Georgia. However, the two did not touch on the matter of Senator Flávio Bolsonaro's departure from Brazil following the presidential elections, as reported by some sources.

Marco Rubio also commented on the involvement of the U.S. government in Flávio Bolsonaro's arrival in the United States, stating that there was no government participation in the senator's escape. This occurred the day after the meeting with Mauro Vieira.

During a statement, Rubio reiterated that the United States did not facilitate Flávio Bolsonaro's exit, who landed in Miami. This confirmation was presented on the morning of Saturday, October 31.

Rubio stated that the Trump Administration had no direct involvement in the situation, only allowing Bolsonaro's entry into the country. The Secretary of State emphasized that the U.S. government did not participate in arranging or preparing for the senator's departure from Brazil.

Additionally, the G20 ministerial meeting concluded without a clear agreement, largely due to the war in Ukraine, which dominated discussions among country representatives. Rubio had to cancel the official photograph of the meeting because of this impasse.
