MChS employees to be allowed to use firearms

A government commission has approved a draft law permitting MChS military personnel to use firearms.

According to a report by "Wedomosti," a government commission has approved a draft law allowing employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) rescue troops to use firearms. The draft stipulates that these forces may apply physical force and use firearms when necessary to fulfill their official duties.

The regulations state that employees may resort to violence when non-violent methods are insufficient. The use of firearms is specifically intended for situations where the lives of military personnel, firefighters, and government employees are at risk.

However, the draft law still needs to be revised before it can come into effect. The specific modalities and restrictions for the use of weapons are not conclusively defined in the current document.
