According to Süddeutsche Zeitung, a US court has determined that the platforms of Facebook's parent company Meta, including Facebook and Instagram, do not provide adequate safety for children. The court imposed a fine of $567 million and mandated additional requirements to protect the mental health of children.

Deutschlandfunk reports that Meta plans to appeal the ruling. With this decision, the company faces another setback as legal disputes regarding the protection of minors on social media continue.
